Linguistics section is indispensable in order to organize the event for the youth from all over the world.
- Who are we?
We are communication specialists, especially as it comes to interlingual communication. Having participated in WYD in Spain or Brazil, we have acknowledged the significance of learning foreign languages but we have also experienced that even more important is the willingness to communicate with young people from all over the world. Mutual openness, friendliness or a smile can mean much more than words.
- What do we do?
We mostly translate all texts into other languages. The translations include information on the website, news from the activities in the Diocese, descriptions of places worth seeing in our Diocese, all materials for Parishes and WYD pilgrims, prayers and Masses. We will cooperate with volunteer translators and with language schools.
- ‘The Angel of the Group’- who is that?
Each youth group will have its ‘Angel’, a person from Poland who will speak their mother tongue and will be the coordinator between the group and the Parish Center. ‘The Angel’ will also give you a helping hand in case of any problems and will translate current information, homilies, speeches, etc.
Journeys, trips, attractions? Why not? We want our volunteer translators to be local tour leaders. Therefore, we plan to organize special training workshops and with the cooperation with local guides, such volunteers will be able to show around our young friends from all over the world.
